Description and specific excellence
Founded in 2001, Fabbrica Energie Rinnovabili Alternative srl (FERA) was one of the first developers of wind farms and is the Italian market leader in Liguria in the production of wind energy. It develops complete wind power projects from the measurement of the wind to the sale of the energy produced. To date FERA has 36 MW of generators in operation and another 60 under construction over the national territory.
In addition to the wind industry, which is its main business, FERA invests in research on concentrated thermodynamic Solar Power at high temperature (Concentrated Solar Power - CSP) and the creation of its production chain (project FREeSUN winner in consortium with companies and centers leading research in the field, Industry 2015 - Energy Efficiency).
Following the FREeSUN project, FERA is building a 1 MW plant in Sicily, the first system with Fresnel technology, made completely from Italian research and components to be built in Italy. In addition to R&D and the opening of a market with Linear Fresnel CSP technology for the production of electricity, FERA is currently studying and researching the same technology for use in other compatible applications and optimal integration projects such as CSP biomass, solar cooling systems, always striving for new results in technological innovation efficiency.
Products, services, end markets
